Mounts & Wild Animals (41 species)

Animal spawns are now on the map with per-species icons from the game's character portraits. Only animals with riding variants (Deer, Bear, Wolf, Warthog, Camel, Elephant, Horse, Iguana, Kuku Bird, Ibex) appear under Mounts. Everything else (31 species including Goat, Gazelle, Pronghorn, Bison, Reindeer, Moose, Elk, Lion, Tiger, Leopard, Crocodile, and more) is under Wild Animals.

Creatures of the Underbrush (62 species)

All butterfly, moth, beetle, and arthropod species from the in-game Knowledge Journal are now mapped with spawn zone indicators. Species are organized into 9 sub-groups matching the Journal: Tropical Butterflies (12), Forest Butterflies (13), Meadow Butterflies (13), Garden Butterflies (11), Moths, Bees & Flies, Beetles, Arthropods, and Other. Each species shows which biome regions it spawns in.

Shops & Services Improvements

  • NPC names now shown on all shop markers
  • Full shop inventory with item names and prices in descriptions
  • Shop items searchable via tags
  • New shop types: Trading Post, Barber, Jeweler
  • Smithy and Equipment Shop properly separated
  • Anvil and Grindstone split into separate crafting filters

Sealed Abyss Artifacts

Each artifact now shows its challenge name and objective in the description (e.g., "Take down 3 enemies at once from over 10 meters away using a rapier").

Crafting Manuals

New standalone category with Dye recipes (170), Equipment Blueprints, Alchemy Formulas, Provisions recipes, and Treasure Maps (14).

Ores

Gold and Silver ore split into separate filters with dedicated item icons. All ore types now use their in-game item art.

Stats

  • 94,000+ total map markers (up from 20,200) - Need to check if we are getting performance issues
  • 259 filter types across 26 categories
  • 14 languages supported

Hidden Items (2,200+ locations)

Find weapons, armor, shields, and accessories scattered throughout the world. Every item shows its name, rarity tier, stats with upgrade range, and socket count.

Items are organized by rarity under the new Hidden Items category:

  • Legendary (9) — Gold border
  • Epic (28) — Purple border
  • Rare (148) — Blue border
  • Uncommon (656) — Green border
  • Common (1,347) — Gray border

Each rarity group breaks down by equipment type — Swords, Axes & Maces, Ranged, Daggers, Shields, Helms, Body Armor, Boots, Gloves, and Accessories — so you can toggle exactly what you're looking for.

Memory Fragments (200 locations)

All 200 Visione memory chip locations are now on the map, each with its name and description.

Higher Resolution Map

The worldmap has been re-rendered. Key improvements:

  • Elevation contour lines showing terrain height changes across the map
  • Highland area fills distinguishing elevated terrain from lowlands
  • Subtler mountain shading that better matches the in-game look
  • City overlays rendered at full resolution (Hernand, Demeniss, Pailune, Delesyia, Calphade, Tommaso, Urdavah, Varnia, Vellua)

Stats

  • 20,200+ total map markers (up from 18,000)
  • 100+ filter types across 15 categories
  • 14 languages supported

New Filters

Sanctums (14) Sacred shrines for prayer and devotion challenges, found throughout Hernand and the surrounding regions.

Spires (2) Towering landmarks — Spire of the Stars and Spire of Ringing Truth.

Hidden Places (15) Secret caves, vaults, and concealed areas — including Marni's Hideout, Pailune Secret Vault, and hidden ranches.

Guard Posts (17) Military outposts and patrol stations across all regions.

Arenas (2) Combat arenas — Goldenfist Arena and The Bonepit.

Bounty Bosses (24) Boss bounty locations with quest names — track and defeat targets like The Crimson Warden, Legendary Wolf, and White Blizzard.

Skill Training Locations

Discover where to learn every combat skill and elemental ability across Pywel. Each location shows:

  • The skill's in-game icon on the map
  • Prerequisites — many skills require Light Reflection or completing specific quests before the trainer appears
  • Nearby landmark, unlockable techniques, and full descriptions

Treasure & Loot

  • Chest (899) — common stealable chests with loot tables
  • Treasure Chest (530) — valuable non-stealable chests in dungeons
  • Treasure Box (249) — world chests with tiered loot (Tier 1–4)
  • Puzzle Chest (22) — dial, padlock, jigsaw, musicbox puzzles
  • Collectible (186) — strongboxes, jewelry storage, engraved boxes
  • Weapon Display (360) — weapon racks and display stands

Major Layout Redesign

The header and navigation have been completely reworked across all platforms (Web, THGL Companion App, Overwolf) to maximize map area and create a consistent, streamlined experience.

Fewer Ads, More Map

  • Desktop: some ads are hidden when the filter sidebar is collapsed, giving you a cleaner map experience
  • Mobile: reduced from two ad containers (floating video + banner) to a single 320x50 bottom banner
  • "Get AD-Free" badge made more compact

New Header Layout (Web)

  • Replaced the left sidebar with a compact game switcher dropdown in the header
  • Social links (Discord, GitHub, Reddit) now sit inline in the header on desktop, and in the nav dropdown on mobile
  • Legal Notice, Privacy Policy, and Consent links moved into the nav dropdown on all screen sizes
  • Removed the Info button — all its content is now in the nav dropdown
  • Settings and Account buttons use outline style for better visibility
  • Account icon changed from Heart to CircleUser for clarity

New Header Layout (THGL Companion App)

  • Streamlined to just Settings, Account, and a burger menu in the header
  • Hide Controls, Overlay/Desktop/Both toggle, and Live Mode always visible in the header on all screen sizes
  • Burger menu contains social links (Discord, GitHub, Reddit), Debug Snapshot, and legal links
  • CircleUser icon for account, consistent with web

New Header Layout (Overwolf)

  • Rebuilt header with own 32px design (no longer shares the 54px web header)
  • Game switcher with compact icon fits the smaller header
  • 2nd Screen Mode, Live Mode, and Hide Controls always visible
  • Settings and Account as outline buttons, burger menu for socials, debug, and legal links
  • Debug Actors button now a compact icon instead of full-width text button
  • "Show controls" hint text reduced for a cleaner overlay experience

Grouped Map Controls

  • Map controls (Compass, 3D, Zoom, Home) and action buttons (Whiteboard, PeerLink, Node, Drawing) are now compact grouped strips
  • On mobile, a single button opens a popover with all controls
  • Action clicks close the popover; map control clicks don't
  • Consistent 32x32px button sizes across all groups

Collapsible Filter Panel

  • Filters collapse on mobile by default for more map space
  • A floating "Filters" button appears when collapsed
  • Slide-in/out animation via CSS left positioning
  • Expand/collapse toggle for small/large filter mode on desktop

Marker Tooltip Improvements

  • Tooltips now render outside the map container (no longer clipped by overflow)
  • Works correctly in small overlay/minimap windows
  • Tooltip closes when hovering over UI overlays (controls, filters)
  • Tooltip won't open for markers hidden behind UI elements

New Map Renderer on Overwolf

Other Improvements

  • External nav links restyled as pill buttons with borders for better visibility
  • Locale switcher shows globe icon and highlights active language
  • Brand text shows full game name on large screens, "TH.GL" on medium
  • Mobile banner ad aligned to bottom-left
  • "Get AD-Free" badge made more compact
  • Removed unused dev-log utility
  • Cleaned up private-node debug logging
